GISC Independent No More - Closer links see launch of Gillingham FC Supporters’ Club

The bold, new era that is Gillingham FC has seen closer links forged between the Football Club and the Supporters’ Club as the new season fast approaches.

Following a very fruitful meeting between the committee of the Gills Independent Supporters’ Club (GISC), Brad and Shannon Galinson, plus other club staff, it was agreed that a name change would be proposed to reflect the new and closer relationship between the supporters and their parent club. GISC members were given the opportunity to vote on a proposed name change for the club. Chairman, Neil Klee, was pleased to confirm that all votes received were in favour of the change. Given members’ approval the GISC committee met and a discussion took place to find a name which would best express the relationship between Gillingham Football Club and its supporting body. We are delighted to announce that what was the Gills Independent Supporters’ Club (GISC), is now the Gillingham F.C. Supporters’ Club. The committee is working on ways to provide additional benefits to members for the coming season, as membership continues to grow as the air of positivity continues to blow around Fortress Priestfield.

When asked about the name change, Gillingham FC Supporters’ Club Chairman Neil Klee (left) commented: “We very much look forward to working closer with the football club in the future on specific projects, as well as providing feedback from the fans directly to the club in regular meetings. We cannot wait to get started and make a difference for all Gills supporters'.”
