We are all very aware of the current cost of living ‘crisis’ and the effect it may have on supporters ability to follow the Gills home and away.
The Gills Independent Supporters Club run coaches to away games whenever it is financially prudent to do so, as we consider it important to give ‘our’ team as much backing as possible.
Coach costs have inevitably increased this season by between 6 to 15%. We want to make following the Gills as reasonable as possible for our members and indeed to encourage others to travel and to become members themselves.
GISC actively subsidise our away coaches by fundraising all year round. We intend to run coaches to as many games as possible whilst making the fare as low as economically feasible, how many games we go to is dependent on the numbers wishing to travel with us, for instance having 30-35 people would mean we could run coaches to virtually every game.
I think you will find our fares competitive with public transport (bearing in mind the current unpredictability of train travel as well) or even travel by car, bearing in mind you don’t have to worry about fuel costs, parking costs or concentrating on the road for hours to and from the game.
GISC travel is not run to make a profit.
