The GISC are delighted to announce the winners of our Player of the Year awards for the 2022/2023 season. Who won Player of the Year, Away Player of the Year and Mark Agate Young Player of the Year?
This season we also have a special award: The GISC Supporters' Award. This is awarded to the person, or persons, who have made the biggest impact on Gillingham FC over the past 12 months.
The awards are voted for by GISC Members and are strictly one vote per member. Thank you to all the members who took the time to vote.
GISC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The GISC Player of the Year Award is the original Player of the Year award which has been presented to the likes of Brian Yeo, John Simpson, Steve Bruce, Terry Cochrane, Tony Cascarino, Robert Taylor, Paul Smith and last seasons winner Stuart O'Keefe.

The top three, who have all been presented with glass trophies prior to the home game against Newport, are:-
1st - Glenn Morris
2nd - Alex MacDonald
3rd - Max Ehmer
Congratulations to all three winners.
MARK AGATE YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR
This award is named in memory of lifelong Gills supporter and former GISC committee member Mark Agate.
The winner of the award this season is Dominic Jefferies. Congratulations.
A glass trophy was presented to Dominic prior to our home fixture against Newport.
AWAY PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The GISC Away Player of the Year sees Glenn Morris complete the double. Congratulations. Glenn has made some vital saves this season in goal for the Gills.
A second glass trophy was presented to Glenn prior to our home fixture against Newport.
SUPPORTER OF THE YEAR
The GISC Supporter of the Year, voted for by members, is a person who has been instrumental in arranging the take over with the Galinson family. He is been open and honest with supporters, welcoming them to the club and making Priestfield a better place to be.
Congratulations to Paul Fisher.
Paul has been a Gillingham fan all his life and was born a stones thrown from Priestfield. He arrived at the club last August as co-Chairman to help facilitate the deal that saw Brad and Shannon Galinson arrive as the club’s owners in December of 2022.
He had since been working as COO, helping run the club on a day-to-day basis. Paul decided to step down from his role in April 2023 in order to concentrate on his own business.
We thank Paul for everything he has done for Gillingham FC. Along with Brad and Shannon he has played a key part in giving us back our Gillingham FC. When reading about the award he said the following on Twitter
Paul will be presented with a glass trophy at a later date.
SUPPORTERS' AWARD
The supporters' award is awarded to the person, or persons, who have made the biggest impact on Gillingham FC over the past 12 months.
This could only be presented to one family: The Galinson Family. Our sleeping giant heroes.
Thank you doesn't seem enough for what Brad, Shannon and family have done in such a short time at Priestfield. It was an early Christmas present for all Gills fans, not quite believing what was happening.
The fan base has been reunited and the right players were signed in January to avoid what looked like certain relegation to the National League in December. Priestfield has seen improvements and the future looks very bright.
Brad, Shannon and family - thank you for choosing Gillingham. We look forward to many memories to come in the coming years. Brad tweeted the following on Twitter when he read about the award:
The Galinson family will be presented with a special crystal vase at a later date.
Thank You
The GISC would like to thank all the members who took the time to vote.
The season was certainly one of two halves, but with Neil Harris in charge let's hope we can gain promotion and have a great 2023/2024 season.
